Question:
I purchased a blue ox 2 way weight 12k distribution hitch for a 2023 grand design imagine 2970 RL and the wdh brackets are said to be installed at 20-25 inches of the coupler. But my propane tank tray is in the way so is there a adapter kit where it can still make this work? What are my options? Because i dont have time to return this wdh hitch

One option is to relocate the propane tank tray. A lot of times the trays are attached to the A-frame with self tapping screws. You could remove the screws and move the tray front/back as needed. There is not any kind of adapter that is made for this purpose and you will have to connect the frame brackets 20-25 inches back from the center of the ball if you want to use a Blue Ox WD hitch like the # BLU75FR.
Another option is to go with an Equalizer brand WD hitch like the # EQ37140ET. This requires the frame brackets to be placed between 27-32 inches back from the center of the ball.
You could also go with a Reese WD hitch # RP66542, and use the bolt on chain hangers # RP58305. These bolt to the side of the A-frame, so the positioning of the propane tank tray will not be an issue.
There may be other options for a WD hitch, it really comes down to where you have open space on the A-frame. If you want to send me some specific dimensions I am happy to look into it further.
