Question:
We have a 2017 Ford focus. What would be the least expensive way to tow it behind the RV. I already looked it up the best way to go with the nighthawk all-terrain tow bar. All parts came up to about 3400.00 dollars. Is there a another way that would not be so expensive.

Honestly, by the time you factor parts cost and labor for installation, you may be able to find a suitable trailer for your car for less.
Otherwise, flat towing your 2017 Ford Focus behind a motorhome is a costly scenario and you may be able to get your parts a little more economically, but it isn't going to be by much. Your vehicle also doesn't need the Nighthawk, which will help with savings.
I saw you were looking at the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-524443-5 so I am going to assume you do not have the adaptive cruise control. I have compiled a list of parts that fit a 2017 Ford Focus without adaptive cruise control below. They will come in a little more economically priced compared to an all Roadmaster kit.
Base Plate Kit: etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e98960
Tow Bar & Safety Cables: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e34ZR
Tow Bar Wiring: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 with the Roadmaster Battery Disconnect # RM-766 (or you can manually disconnect and reconnect the battery each time)
Supplemental Braking System: Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System # BLU37TR with the 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332
