How to Adjust Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution for "Under-Distributed" Setup

Question:
Hi. Ive got Equal-i-zer 10K 4-Point Sway Control Hitch. It works just dandy as my previous Equalizer hitch worked, but I need to tweak the adjustment a bit - ATM, my front end is a tiny bit too high ie, when I tow at night it appears as if my high-beams are on. Im aware of the overall process for setting the hitch properly and have reviewed your FAQs, including the Adjusting Your Hitch section/videos. But I need some guidance on fine-tuning it. I have two questions ATM. Everyone says just add another spacer, but I wonder how many spacer washers are too many I currently have 7 washers in place? Also, assuming 7 is the max, if I raise the L-brackets would I also likely have to remove spacer washers? FYI, my current configuration is: 7 spacer washers the shank is on the 3rd hole from the top the L-brackets are in the 2nd and 3rd positions from the top and my trailer weight is close to the maximum at around 9700 or 9800 pounds. To the eye, the trailer appears to ride level and the bars appear parallel to the ground. Any guidance would be appreciated.

It sounds like your Equal-i-zer weight distribution system is "Under-Distributed" so you will need to either add washers to the hitch head or adjust the L-Brackets like you mentioned. The instructions say to start with 6 washers so adding up to 8 would be just fine, and then if the system still needs adjusting I recommend adjusting the L-Brackets up.
There isn't an exact "science" behind what settings to choose other than what gives you the most level and safe towing setup. Since your system seems to be pretty level already I recommend making minor adjustments first to see if that levels out your headlights.
