Question:
Hi there, I’m looking to buy a WDH with anti sway bar. I’m just wondering if you only have to have everything set up when driving highways or can you have both the WHD and anti sway bar actively connected when driving through city streets performing 90 degree turns or in the caravan park manoeuvring around the parks sharp turns and reversing into camp spot. I’ve had different advice, some saying yes, only highways, some say it’s ok apart from reversing, some saying you have do all of the above with the WDH and anti sway attached.

Backing up may or may not be allowed depending on the weight distribution hitch you decide to get. However, no WDH is going to allow you to make full 90 degree turns. The spring bars may come out, or the system may end up damaged, so you would need to disconnect the spring bars if you make a turn that sharp.
This isn't an issue with most driving conditions, and in a lot of cases you can be careful and make a wider turn to avoid it. It sounds like you might have some specific conditions where it is unavoidable so in that scenario you will want to disconnect the bars to prevent any problems. You might even want to take the trailer out to a parking lot and make some turns to learn the limitations of the system.
If you don't already have a WDH picked out I recommend checking out the Fastway e2. This system is made by Equl-i-zer who is known for being the best in the industry. It uses 2-point friction sway control to reduce side-to-side movement. You need to choose a hitch based on the loaded tongue weight of your setup. Once you have found your tongue weight you can choose from one of the following:
-Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0450 (Up to 450 lbs of tongue weight)
-Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0600 (250 lbs - 600 lbs of tongue weight)
-Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0800 (400 lbs - 800 lbs of tongue weight)
-Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-1000 (600 lbs - 1,000 lbs of tongue weight)
-Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-1200 (800 lbs - 1,200 lbs of tongue weight)
If you get the system rated up to 450 lbs you will need the # 40038 for a 2" ball or # C40005 for a 2-5/16" ball along with # ALL643210 for installation. For all other systems you can use the # EQ91-00-6080 for a 2" ball or # EQ91-00-6100 for a 2-5/16" ball along with # ALL643216 for installation.
I have attached a review and installation video below for your reference.
