Reverse Lockout Disengaging When Backing Trailer Up Steep Driveway

Question:
I have a short 20 steep driveway that slopes up to my garage. I do not think the surge brake actuator I have handles this slope so well when backing up. The reverse brake lock out pops back into the normal position halfway up the slope and the brakes are stuck on when I try to unhook the trailer. Do you have a recommended actuator designed to handle a drastic angle backup?

Expert Reply:
The brake actuators we offer are designed for the trailer weight and tongue weight capacities, and will work the same regardless of the surface you are on. If the reverse lockout is disengaging and locking up the brakes on your trailer, then you may have a bad solenoid, or a bad actuator.
If you have a Titan Model 6, Model 60, Aero 7500, or newer Model 10 or Model 20 actuator, and also Dico Models 10, 20 and 60 actuators, the replacement solenoid is part # T4748800. For 2000 and older Model 10 actuators, an adapter, part # T4750200 which is sold separately may be necessary for installation.
I have attached an installation video for the solenoid yo can check out.
If you decide to replace your actuator, you can send me the make and model number for your old actuator and we can make a recommendation that will work for you.
