Question:
I purchased the P@ for my 2004 Dodge 3500 Laramie. The unit worked for !00 miles and at a rest area the engine was shut off. The P2 unit did not work after the stop. We purchased a Hopkins unit to replace the P2 which also did not work. After returning home the Hopkins failed. After much checking and trouble shooting, the hopkins works fine, but we could not get the P2 to work. I returned the P2 to receive a refund. Any suggestions as to what may have caused the failure.?? I prefer the P2, but will stick with the Hopkins for now. I will get a P3 in the future as I liked the lever vs the Hopkins push button for manual control. Living in Colorado, braking is top priority... Thank you.

The Prodigy brake controllers like the P2 part # 90885 and the P3 part # 90195 are widely considered to be the most reliable around and ironically the Hopkins are considered by many to be the worst. So the fact your Hopkins is working more reliably is pretty crazy. I would assume the P2 failure was a fluke. If you were to try another Prodigy controller I would assume it would be rock solid and very reliable.
