Question:

So I have a 2022 Ford F350 Dually and I tow a 5th wheel camper with a pin weight of 3,500 pounds. I am debating if I should go with this model Sumo Springs because the Black rebel did not fit or if I should go with the Timbren brand. I would like to use the sumo brand but i also do not want to over compress the sumo spring since the rating is 2,800 pounds. I guess my question is will it over compress and not really help with the sag or will the leaf springs do most of the work and these will come into play after to help keep the truck from sagging. The truck is used 90 percent of the time for towing.

I can certainly point you in the right direction. I agree with you that the 2,800 sumo springs # SSR-127-54 will not be enough for the kind of weight you are pulling with your 2022 Ford F-350. They may help slightly with sagging, but you would be overloading the springs and that is never recommended.

A Timbren # TFR350SDJ would be much more appropriate for this application. These are 8,600 lb capacity rubber springs which will absolutely help eliminate sagging, and improve your ride quality while towing. The only downside is that the 10% of the time you are not towing, the Timbrens can make your ride a little bumpy. They do not make constant contact with the axle, and you will feel them coming in to contact with the axle when you go over bumps.

You may want to consider a rear air bag kit for this application as well. They are more difficult to install, but air bags will allow you to fine-tune your suspension with or without your 5th wheel in tow. For that I recommend the Air Lift # AL86KV. This is a 7,500 lb capacity air bag kit made specifically for F-350 dually trucks. It is also compatible with an in bed fifth wheel hitch. They can be filled to only 5 PSI when you are not towing, so there will be very little effect on the factory ride. When you have your 5th wheel hitched up, you will be able to fill the bags and get your truck darn near perfectly level. This air lift kit comes with two standard air valves that can be mounted on the rear bumper. You have the option of adding an on board compressor like the # AL58WQ, which is a wireless compressor that you control via the air lift smartphone app.
