Brake controllers are not vehicle specific, but their wiring adapters are. The # C51342 wiring adapter would be the correct adapter for installing a brake controller into your 2002 Silverado. The adapter would plug into the convenience center under the dash as shown in the help article I linked you to.
If your Silverado has the OEM 7-way, all you should need to do is plug the controller into the convenience center and attach the mounting bracket to the underside of the dash. If not, you would need to install a 7-way connector like # HM40975 and complete the wiring connections under the hood as described in the help article.
