Recommended Brake Controller for a 2021 Ford Ranger

I have been a long time etrailer customer. I just bought a 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor and plan on towing a 2 axle travel trailer GVWR of 6000 and am looking at the RedArc brake controller. Can you recommend a package that I would need to install the product.

Welcome back and congrats on the new truck! The best Redarc brake controller for your 2021 Ford Ranger is going to be the Tow-Pro Liberty item # RED24FR. This is a proportional brake controller that automatically adjusts your trailer's braking based on the deceleration of your Ranger. The Liberty has a unique installation method where the main unit is concealed behind your dash and the only part visible is the control knob. This means no bulky brake controller to bang your knee on when you're getting in and out of your truck.
You will need the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers item # RED69FR to complete the installation. There is no plug present under the dash, even in the Ranger's with the tow package, but the wires are already ran. They are sticking out of the large wire harness that goes through the driver's side firewall, left of the brake pedal, with shrink tubing on the ends.
The benefit of using a Redarc brake controller is the size of the knob. It can be easily mounted anywhere within reach. If you're ok with losing your 12 volt outlet by your shifter you can use the Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob item # 331-TPSI-003 to install the knob.
