Replacement Battery For Interstate SMR-27IBS Group 27 Marine Battery

Question:

I have a Interstate battery SMR-27IBS and would like to get a battery similar for my Keystone travel trailer. What battery would you recommend to replace the original. We do not Boondock. Confused about all the choices. Also needs to fit in my battery box as before

Your Interstate battery is a group 27 size battery. I recommend going with either an AGM # 34276285 or Lithium # GP99QR battery. Your Interstate is a typical lead acid battery which requires you to check the battery acid and water mixture and refill the water as needed. Both the AGM and Lithium are maintenance free batteries. The AGM has a 2-year warranty while the Lithium comes with a 10-year warranty. Typically a lithium battery will outlast the trailer and can be moved over when changing trailers as long as the battery is properly maintained. You will need a Charger/Maintainer # MA27JR specifically designed to charge lithium batteries and may need to change out your power converter in your trailer depending on if it is compatible with lithium batteries.
