How Does RAS Kit Install on 2008 Ford E-250

Updated 05/25/2023 | Published 05/23/2023

Question:

Why are the RAS for the E series vans different from the ones for the F series trucks? And whats with the end that on the trucks should bolt under the leaf spring in front of the axle? Why does one extend out and the other back? How do these even get installed? I have these on my F150 and have loved them. They solved problems I had when towing a horse trailer. Now I have a 2008 extended cargo E250 that we are building out. We had a high roof put on it. When we tow our tear T@G camper the rear sags. I want to put these on to solve that. By the way, Im only 3 1/2 hours from you guys...if you would like to make a video installing these on my van I could probably come up there and do it. That would be a special treat for me. Love you guys!

The suspension of the trucks is different from the vans which is why for your 2008 Ford E-Series passenger van the RAS kit fits are different and you would need the # RAS2612. One side extends forward and the other back to balance the additional support on either side of the axle. Similar to shocks facing different directions. Basically you remove the spring pack u-bolt and plate and install these by using the center pin of the spring pack with the hole on the mounting plate of the RAS and then put the plate back over it.

We can definitely install this kit for you if you wanted to make the trip up here!
