When the rear sags from heavy trailers or bed weight, steering and braking can get sketchy. This RoadActive Suspension kit adds up to 2,000 lbs of support by turning your factory leaf springs into a mechanically active suspension system. It instantly reacts to extra weight to keep your ride level, steadying the vehicle from front to back so it handles and brakes like it should when towing or hauling.
Hauling or accelerating hard can twist the leaf springs enough to cause axle wrap and wheel hop. The RAS system absorbs that force before it builds, keeping the tires planted instead of bouncing. With traction restored, you get smoother takeoffs, better braking control, and less stress on your suspension parts over time.
Towing a heavy camper or driving through windy stretches can make the rear shift or lean. The variable-rated coil tension springs in this kit stabilize your load to reduce sway and body roll before they start. That keeps your vehicle balanced through corners, turns, and gusty conditions so it feels planted and predictable instead of rocking side to side.
Each unit comes fully assembled for simple bolt-on installation—no drilling, cutting, or welding needed. Once installed, there’s no air pressure to adjust or hardware to maintain. The epoxy e-coated high-grade steel and corrosion-resistant brackets (rated for more than 800 hours of salt spray) mean it’s built for years of use without upkeep.

Hello neighbors and friends. I'm Steve here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit. Now folks, this is a custom fit for your '08 through '14 Ford E-150, 250, and 350 vans. I recommend you look at our website, top stair homepage, use our fit guide where it says "Year, make, and model, vehicle information," things like that, to ensure you're getting the right parts the first time for your specific vehicle. Now that being said, this is a very nice custom kit.
It's gonna convert your vehicle's factory leaf springs into a mechanically active suspension system so all this can twist. You can thread these rods in and out independently to adjust 'em, you have a driver and a passenger side. It's an all in one system for your suspension. It's gonna improve your stability, handling control, and it's also gonna actively strengthen your factory leaf springs for an improved ride quality. Now it does reduce axle warp, wheel hop, bottoming out, dangerous sway, body roll when you're cornering, those kind of things, and it helps keep your ride level when you're towing or hauling those heavy loads.
It does improve traction while braking, and it has a variable rated coil tension spring here that will automatically adjust to your vehicle's load. So it's gonna extend when it needs to and contract when it needs to. Like I said, it's customizable so you can, you know, move these nuts in or out, thread this in or out to make it tighter, looser, same thing on this side, just depends on what your needs are. So follow the instructions that come with it and you shouldn't have any problems. There's one side there.
There's the other side. Same thing with the other. You got all those suspension parts. It is rated for 2000 pounds capacity and it's not gonna increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity, but it does help with 2000 pounds of that. You have a nice five year warranty and it's all durable, epoxy coated steel.
It's got corrosion resistant on the ends here that even have a salt spray rate of more than 800 hours. So it can even go into water if you're unloading a boat, loading a boat, that kind of stuff. Or you just live in an area with high salt in the air, such as by the beach, the ocean, or something. It's a super easy bolt on installation. There's no drilling, no cutting or welding, and the unit just installs right on top of your leaf spring and under the U-bolt plate. So you're gonna get these fully assembled kits when you get 'em, the hardware's included. It's maintenance free. All you're gonna do is adjust and monitor it as needed once you install it the first time, so it's pretty simple. And it is made here in the USA. Well It has not failed me yet. Being basically a spring under load all the time I am assuming the spring will stretch some over time and I will have to adjust tension accordingly. The pickup sits nicely on the thinner washer setting so I am leaving it there and hopefully that will help the system last longer.

What can I say. After a year of constantly driving through Texas roads and highways. I have moved twice and loaded the bed of my truck plus U-Haul 6x12 trailer and thy truck has not felt the load of it. The Active Road Suspension Leaf Spring is constantly sort of speak sensing if theres load so it can actively push it upwards. I have even driven up to the crazy roads of Pennsylvania and my pick drives smoother than when I got it from the dealer. Im telling you these things work. As any cautious driver upkeeping his own vehicle, I have periodically checked the bolts and location of the resistance in between the spring and it has not deflected or moved from its original installation. I believe every pick up must have these. It beats constantly putting air on the air bags especially in inclement weather like up here in Pennsylvania with the snow. I couldnt be more satisfied with this purchase. Thank you etrailer for offering this superb product.

After a year I am still pleased with this product. I had been adjusting the spring tension higher when towing and then back down after a trailering trip, but now just leave it adjusted to the trailer towing tension as the unloaded ride doesnt seem to suffer when the springs are tighter.

Still working great. Towed a Flaggstaff microlite 23LB Travel trailer prob between 5 and 5500 LB’s to Niagra Falls with no problems, truck sat level with trailer and 2 adults,2kids. Getting ready to make a 2,000 mile round trip to disney in florida in a few weeks.

OMG!! I have done extensive traveling with my trailer over the last year and the RAS system has made a huge difference in sway, road buffeting and squat. I can’t imagine not having this on any vehicle that tows!

Removed the Suspension Enhancement and installed Airlift. Cost more but rear-end isnt sagging 4.
