can you install a base plate on a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit with active shutters ?

The compatible baseplates for a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee do not have any tech listings against usage with active air shutters so there shouldn't be any interference. That being said most of the time if there is any interference you can simply trim the air shutters causing the interference and finish installing the baseplate. Before installing anything you should also verify your specific model is capable of being flat towed by looking up the recreational towing or dinghy towing section of your owner's manual.

For a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit I have the following component recommendations for flat towing:

Baseplate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM76RR.

Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e74ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables bracketed to the arms so you won't have to purchase them separately or worry about them dragging on the ground. The head and shank offer a bit of adjustability in order to stay level between the motorhome and Jeep.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit will splice into your Jeep's tail light wiring to display your motorhome's traffic signals though the tail lights of the Jeep.

If you have ParkSense Proximity Sensors then you'll need smart diodes instead and would need part # RM63MR.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This potable braking system comes with a remote that will allow you to easily see when the brakes are being applied in the Jeep and can also change your brake settings/type all from the driver's seat of your motorhome. The included charge line kit will help keep the Jeep's battery charged while you tow, which is important since your battery will drain while towing.

If you motorhome doesn't have a charge line kit installed already then you'll also want to pick up the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75.

I have a 2022 Grand Cherokee Overland that has a totally different grill than the other models, it also has factory installed tow hooks, is there a specific plate for this model and can the factory tow hooks be adapted to my existing Blue Ox 10,000 pound tow bar?

@RodK is it the old or new body style? Something like the # BLU68CR fits the new body style and lets you maintain the factory tow hooks. Check out the pictures on the product page. There is no way to use the tow hooks as an attachment point for your tow bar.
