Hello - I am going to buy some things for my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Overland. I need a Blue Ox bow bar baseplate, wiring for lights with diodes, trickle charger to battery. PLease give a recommendation on which components to get.

Hey Joe,

I have the following component recommendations for your 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Overland:

Baseplate: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU68CR

Tow Bar: Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7420, This will also include safety cables so you won't have to purchase them separately.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will splice into your factory wiring to display your motorhome's traffic signals through the tail lights of the Cherokee.

If you have ParkSense Proximity Sensors then you'll need the Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights # RM63MR instead.

Braking System: If your motorhome has hydraulic brakes then I recommend the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251. Since your Cherokee's brake light switch wire isn't useable you'll need to install the RoadMaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM77RR to get the signal for the indicator light of the # SM99251.

If your motorhome has air brakes then you'll need the Demco Air Force One # SM99243 instead. This won't require a stop light switch kit since it uses a reed switch to send the signal to the indicator light.

To keep the battery charged while you tow you'll want the # RM-156-25 for the vehicle side and # RM-156-75 for the motorhome side if you don't already have a line ran to the 7-way.
