7-Way For 2023 Toyota Highlander For Brake Controller

Question:

Howdy, I have a 2023 Highlander that I have a tekonsha P3 brake controller. I had a factory four pin flat trailer hook up installed at the dealer. I’d like to convert to seven pin round for my trailer. I recently bought the brake controller adapter with diode installed, and the deluxe install kit is that what I need or do I need the 2023 specific seven pin harness that plugs into the rear cargo area? The Tekonsha, adapter and deluxe kit I just ordered from you guys a couple days ago and is on the way. Also, will my trailer drain my car battery if it’s left hooked up? Are there any options so that when the car is off the hot wire to the trailer is off? Thank you so much.

Since you already have a 4-way on your 2023 Toyota Highlander all you need is the install kit with the 7-way, the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.

Your trailer will not drain your car battery either if it is left hooked up.
