Question:
Are there options that allow the mounting brackets and bars to accommodate a 35-37” distance from the ball hitch? Looking at this as an option for a Y-frame boat trailer with surge brakes.

It sounds like you are going to need the Blue Ox Pole Tongue Weight Distributing Hitch Adapter # BXW4023 to use with the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution # BXW1500 on your boat trailer. While this was designed to use on pole tongue trailers it is also helpful on y-frame trailers which have the front pole tongue for mounting a surge brake coupler. The adapter will fit a tongue 2-3/4"-4-1/2" wide and 3"-6" tall. There are no longer spring bars to use with the weight distribution hitch to move it back to 35-37" range you are looking for. If you are unsure if this will work with your trailer, please send me some images and measurements for your trailer tongue and I will let you know what options you may have.
