Is it Required To Disconnect The Battery To Flat Tow a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500?

Question:
I have a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 that will be towed by my RV. As soon as I hook up everything and start to go my trucks Parking brake engages and my wheels lock. I am being told to install a battery disconnect switch to disengage power to my brakes. If I do that will that mess with all my trucks electronic settings? If so is there a better alternative? If its only the radio no biggy. Please help? Thanks

According to the owners manual for your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500, disconnecting the battery is the only option to prevent the electric parking brake from activating when you flat tow your truck. We have the Battery Disconnect # RM-766 for gas engines or the Kit # RM93MR if you have a diesel engine. Your settings are saved in the computer memory and will remain set.
