Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring On 2015 Nissan Pathfinder Not Working Trailer Lights
Updated 03/21/2023 | Published 03/20/2023 >
Question:
Currently my 2015 Pathfinder with a tow package and a 7 blade connection on the vehicle is linked to my 4 blade flat converter connector that goes to the trailer. When the Pathfinder is connected to the trailers wiring none of the trailer lighting system works. When the trailer is connected to my friends truck using the same connections and configuration everything works stop lights, turn signal lights etc.. What do you think may be the problem? I know that it has to be something in the Pathfinder’s electrical towing connections but I am unsure where to start troubleshooting. Any ideas

Since none of the trailer lighting functions are working on your 2015 Nissan Pathfinder it sounds like the trailer connector harness on the back was installed, but that the relays were not.
Take a look at the linked video at the 5:00 minute mark where Ryan starts to install the relays, and verify that you have all of the relays and relay harness installed exactly like the video. Also make sure to check the relays in the relay box as well
If any of these are missing that would be your issue since you know the trailer works right by testing with your friends vehicle.
Should you find missing relays you'll need to order the Tekonsha # 118273 which is a 7-way connector but includes the needed harness and relays, as they aren't sold separately.
