Recommended Plug-In Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controllers on a 2012 Honda Pilot w/ the Tow Package

Question:
I am interested in the tekonsha P2 or P3 for my 2012 Honda pilot touring with tow package it has the connector under the dash. The car came with a pigtail which is clearly labeled with the four wires. Do I need to buy the car specific adapter or can I just splice the pigtail to the one that comes with the controller?

If you do not want to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter item # 3070-P that connects to the port underneath your dash, then you can just splice into the wiring harness. Both the Tekonsha P2 item # 90885 and the P3 item # 91095 come with the wiring harness you will need.
I recommend comparing the pigtail you have to the one on the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter item # 3070-P to confirm they're the same one. I have linked a picture below so you can get a better look.
