The best brake controller we have for your 2018 Honda Pilot is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195. This a proportional brake controller that has integrated safeguards to protect the vehicle/trailer and continuous diagnostics checks for easy troubleshooting.
In order to install this controller you will first want to take a peek under the driver's side kick panel up near the emergency brake lever to see if there is an adapter port present (see video). If there is an adapter port present then you can use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3070-P. If there is not an adapter port present then you will need to hardwire the controller using the included wiring harness.
If you do not already have a 7-way wiring harness then I recommend using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118286.

I have a 2019 Honda pilot with a 7-way plug installed by u-haul. I've done added tekonsha voyager and the 3070-p wiring harness, plugged into the 4 pin connector under the dash. There are 12 volts across the white and black wires on the harness. The controller shows no power. Plugged into a different pilot which has a tekonsha p3 it does show it has power. The p3 in my car also shows no power. This is when the trailer is plugged in. What is going on?
