Question:
I have a 2023 Ford Maverick XLT. It did not come with electric breaks. I will be towing about 3000 lbs. Can I add electric breaks and do I need them at all. Thank You

To add a brake controller to your 2023 Ford Maverick I recommend installing the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter # TK95VR to get the wiring and then the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller for Tekonsha Harness # RED63RR for the brake controller end of things.
The Tekonsha wiring kit gets you all of the functions you need for your trailer functions and then the Tow-Pro Elite controller can be installed virtually anywhere in your truck cab and only has a small control knob which makes for a great-looking installation plus you won't be taking up any space in your cab.
If your trailer is equipped with brakes (which anything rated for 2K and up should be) then you'll want to utilize a brake controller. It gives you more control and keeps the trailer in-line with your truck.
I've attached some review videos for you to check out.
