Features to know about

Made for a Clean Look: Tabless Base Plate with Removable Arms

When you’re not towing, you want your front end to stay clean and uncluttered. This base plate’s tabless design leaves nothing sticking out and keeps a smooth, factory-style appearance. The removable arms detach in seconds and the included high-density polyethylene receiver covers snap in to block dirt and moisture. That keeps the sockets free of corrosion so the tabs slide in and out easily every time you hook up.

Hook Up Fast Without Hassle: Twist-Lock, Pin-Secure Connection

Connecting your tow bar is quick and solid thanks to the twist-lock attachment system. Each arm slides into the receiver, locks with a simple twist, and secures with a pull pin for extra peace of mind. When you’re done towing, just pull the pin, twist again, and remove the arm—no tools or fuss required. It’s a dependable setup that makes solo hookups smooth wherever you are.

Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit with removable arms shown connected to a vehicle front end, demonstrating the twist-lock tow bar hookup design for easy towing setup.

Built to Handle the Miles: Heavy-Duty Steel Construction

The base plate is built from black powder coated steel for strength that lasts through years of towing. The kit bolts directly to your vehicle’s attachment points to distribute loads evenly and keep everything aligned under tension. With dimensions at 48" long x 15-1/2" wide x 4-3/4" tall, a distance between brackets of 19-1/2", bracket height of 18", and weight of 40 lbs, it’s engineered for durability on long hauls.

Keep Your Current Tow Bar Setup: Wide Compatibility with Adapters Available

If you already have a tow bar you like, there’s a good chance it’ll work here. This base plate connects directly with Demco, Blue Ox, etrailer, and Curt Rambler tow bars without any adapter. For Roadmaster bars or other systems, Demco offers specific adapters (DM9523036, DM9523062, DM9523014, DM9523023) so you can reuse your existing gear instead of starting over. That flexibility makes it easy to fit this into your current flat-tow setup.

This custom-fit base plate kit lets you hook up your tow bar to your vehicle. Tabless design provides a clean, unobtrusive look for your towed car even when not hooked up. Simple bolt-on installation.

by:

Very easy to install except for one item. The core support bolt holes need to be moved out about 1/4 inch. Had to trim the hole on the plastic shutter surround. Otherwise great fit on 2026 Ford Ranger. I’ve done many of these and this was the easiest. Price is definitely too much. Haven’t towed with it yet but looking forward to it.

by:

I gave this 5 stars based on design and durability.Installation, however, is somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Installation can be a real challenge, and even the best back yard mechanic might be a tad frustrated. The biggest problem in installation is NOT installing but getting ready to install. Removal od the tow bar hooks took more time than installing the base plates. We're talking a 2018 F-150 XLT Sport 4X4 crew cab. The pics show the finished product and the location of the safety can\bles.

by:

Now that I have actually used the tow bar and base plates I am very happy with my purchase. Sets up easy and when not in use the cover plates make for a great appearance on the truck.

by:

This does not fit my 2025 ranger. I attached are a few images of the mounting location for the 9519343 base plate on my 2025 Ford Ranger with the Lariat trim and the 2.7l v6 motor. The aluminum colored piece interferes with the horizontal bar connecting the actual base plates. The base plate mounting holes are 31.5" apart, whereas the receiving nuts on the truck frame are 30.5" apart. I am returning this and have ordered a Blue Ox base plate.

by:

Straight forward install. I have towed the Maverick about 7000 miles with no issues. The pins are a wee bight tight when mating to my Blue Ox tow bar. But that is loosening with time. A nice improvement would be a heavy duty mount for the umbilical plug

by:

Lock tight both TUBES hard as a rock.
YOU
Don't need lock tight at all as all threads in the nuts are lousy and no way to hand start anything. Had to run 4 or 5 bolts through each nut with an impact to free them up a bit. They should have piolet starter on each bolt and all threads should be clear enough for a hand start. This kit worked well as it does not require the bumper to be removed. BUT: LOUSEY BOLTS AND NUTS ADDED AT LEAST 30 MIN TO FIGHTING EVERY BOLT TO GET IT STARTED. 5 STARS FOR THE KIT. 1/2 STAR FOR THE BOLTS WITHOUT PIOLET AND NUTS THAT CAN NOT BE HAND STARTED.

by:

I use only Demco baseplates as they are the only brand that mount with no cutting or drilling. The Excalibar tow bar is very well made and handles my Jeep Gladiator with ease. It's also very simple and easy to hook and unhook. The excellent "how to" videos from etrailer sure helped me make the correct purchase decision.

by:

Just installed the Demco Tabless Base Plate and included 6 pin wire bracket. It was very straightforward and anyone who is a little mechanically inclined, can do it with ease. The etrailer video was incredibly helpful. I followed it step by step and had no issues. I love that it is a direct bolt-to-frame base plate and does not need any modifications. I spent a bit more time cutting out the gravel guard to form-fit the tabless connectors. The adapters are sleek and blend right in to the front end. Love how it turned out.

Super Duper customer support! I had an issue with a product and Lauren got me all set up on what I needed to get the job done in a fast time frame.

by:

FAST AND GREAT COMMUNICATION AS ALWAYS! !!

by:

I've been working on cars for almost 50 years and installing this base plate just about killed me. I had my son helping and we had to grind the plastic shutter frame as shown in the directions, but had to grind more than the instructions showed. I had to move the Adaptive Cruise Control box down 1/4 inch because the base plate cross piece hit the top of it, even though the base plate was made for clearance, just not enough clearance. There is a 1" gap on the car frame above the mounted base plate so the cross piece could be made taller, so maybe future kits can implement this. Bottom line, 2 guys 6 hours (and 2 trips to the store for more hardware) to complete. Sure hope it works as designed!
The included instructions on how to remove the fascia are lacking. Youtube video does a MUCH better job than any of the videos on your website.
Besides all this, the base plate itself appears to made well of quality materials. It is very beefy.

by:

I would give the tow bar a minus numberif possible. I bought it in hopes of not cutting up the shutter housing on my 2025 Maverick Hybrid. Well the bolt holes did not line up. I spoke with the Demco Engineers about the issue and they said that I must have a bent frame. My vehicle was two weeks old from the manufacturing date and all the rest of the pieces in the front assembly fit perfectly from Ford. I lad less then 200 miles on the unit. I made some cuts in the bar to allow more movement with the approval of Demco and still I could not get the front facia on. I called installers and they said they just cut away whatever is needed to get a tow bar on. None that I talked to at 3 places had as yet done this model installation. E trailer accepted my return and I put a roadmaster bar on.

by:

Bottom bolts seem kind of a weak install in my opinion, I was able to put my facia back on with not cutting so that was good.

Just as long as you torqued them down to spec, you will be just find Pete. Where did you go for the first trip?

by:

Was able to install without issues using 2 washers between base plate and the upper brace and none on the bottom, otherwise followed the video. Works great!

  • Will Demco Base Plate Fit 2026 For Maverick Hybrid Lariat
Hey Bob! We are ahead of manufacturer fitment pretty often, and have confirmed that the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM38CV will fit the 2026 Maverick Hybrid. Our own etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e96GV shares the same design so you can use that as well. It will work with a Demco tow bar if you already have one, and etrailer tow bars like the SD # e34ZR and XHD # e94ZR. If you would prefer manufacturer confirmation, then I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit...

  • Is the Curt RVi Series or Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Better for a 2025 Ford Maverick?
Hey Rich, welcome back! If you plan on keeping your 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid for a few years and/or flat tow it often, I recommend using the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo item # SM99251. The initial install is elaborate but the components are going to be completely out of the way for daily driving. I've linked an installation video below we did on a 2025 Maverick so you can see how to get...

  • Will Installing the Demco Base Plate on a Ford Maverick Require Removing the Air Dam Louvers?
Hello Ron, The shutter blades do get permanently removed when installing the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e96GV or the Demco # DM38CV on the Ford Maverick. Brad was careful removing them in the video mainly to avoid damaging surrounding components during the install process, but they are not reinstalled afterward. I did check with Demco on this since it is a common question, especially for customers comparing base plate options. Their tech confirmed that the shutter blades are...
