Question:
Hello, I have a weight distribution hitch...chain type which is a Pro Series brand/model...I am now missing the brackets which mount to the trailer to pull the chain tight...assuming correct trailer frame dimensions, weights, and such, can I use any brand brackets to replace? Curt C17208 for example...Or is there one which is better to use as a replacement for a different brand? Thanks

Expert Reply:
While snap up brackets like the Replacement Hook Up Brackets for Curt Weight Distribution Systems # C17208 are somewhat interchangeable, I would still recommend using like branded brackets.
The Pro Series weight distribution hitches are manufactured by the same company as the Reese weight distribution systems.
I recommend going with the Replacement Heavy Duty Snap-Up Bracket for Reese Weight Distribution Systems # 58392 if your weight distribution system has a tongue weight capacity of 800 lbs. and over. If your system has a tongue weight capacity of 600 lbs. or less, you will want to use the Replacement Lift Bracket for Reese Weight Distribution Systems # RP21501.
