Looking for a hitch for my 23 Highlander XSE. Why does this hitch say excluding XSE and XSE models

For a 2023 Toyota Highlander XSE I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e75ZR. This hitch has a matte black coating that helps prevent rust and corrosion, as well as hide scratches or dings from the road better than high gloss coatings. The install is fairly simply with this hitch but you will need to do a bit of trimming to an underbody panel for it to properly fit. If you check out the attached video below, Ryan will walk you through the installation process.

As for the "excluding XSE" tag, the whole category of hitches is split between ones that fit XSE or don't and this one fits all models so it carries both designations.

If you plan on towing anything that would require lighting then you'll also want to pick up the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TK99FR as well. This two-piece wiring harness has plug-in connectors that will work with your Highlander's factory wiring for a quick and easy installation.
