Can Curt Short Arm Weight Distribution System be Used with Surge Brakes

Can I use this system on a boat trailer with surge brakes? Boat and trailer is 5000 lb tow weight with 500 lb tongue weight. Anything different about the setup in this situation compared to say towing an atv trailer with electric brakes.

The Curt Short Arm Weight Distribution system part # C17332 is surge brake compatible. Some WD systems don't allow the in and out movement that a surge brake requires but this system does so it would be compatible.
