To flat tow your 2015 Chevy Equinox you're going to need the following components:
Baseplate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523160-5. Note: This fits all models with 2.4 & 3.6 engines without a brushguard. If this will not work for you then let me know and I can explore other options with you.
Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e74ZR. This tow bar has a lot of added features all for one economical price. Safety cables come included and are bracketed to the tow bar to prevent it from dragging on the ground. The head and shank have adjustability to help keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and Equinox without the need of a high/low adapter.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This kit is a one-time installation that will splice into your vehicle's tail lights and use them to display your motorhome's brake and turn signals.
You will need to pull specific fuses listed in your owner's manual in order to safely tow your Equinox. I highly recommend installing a fuse bypass to make this as easy as flipping a switch. 4-cylinder models will require fuse bypass # RM-76517, while V6 models will need to use part number # RM76511.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This portable system does require setup each time but is fast and easy to do. The included remote will allow you to see when the brakes are depressed in your Equinox as well as adjust brake sensitivity from the cab of your motorhome. It also includes a charge line kit to help keep your Equinox's battery charged while you tow.
