Question:
I have a 2018 Atlas which did not come with the tow package, From what I understand it does have the connector for a brake controller behind the panel where the hood release is, my concern is the other end of the car, if there is existing wiring that would provide input to a 7 pin for the brake controller blue wire and the power wire or would I have to run those 2 wires. I already have the VW module in the rear which has a connector for a flat 4 way plug, I already have a VW harness to connect a 7 pin plug, that harness I have has one connector which plugs into the module where the 4 pin harness does and it has another connector with 2 wires but I dont see a place to plug them in. I want to get this figured out before I buy a brake controller .

Our understanding of the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas that does not come with the tow package is that the wiring isn't present from the front of the vehicle to the back. There might be some of the brake controller wiring behind the panel like you mentioned but we could only really recommend you test the connector for voltage with a tester like part # PTW2992. You might get lucky and the power wire and stoplight circuit are present there but it's hard to say. You could use the # TK22FR plugged into the connector if it's present to install a controller like the P3 part # 90195. You'd need to cut out the blue wire and route it back to the rear of the vehicle like with 10 gauge wire part # 10-1-1.
