Wiring a trailer usually means cutting and splicing into the vehicle’s wiring, but this harness skips all that. The Curt T-Connector plugs directly into existing factory connectors, giving you a clean, plug-and-play setup with a 4-flat trailer connector ready to go. It’s built for vehicles without a tow package, so you can add towing capability without altering factory wiring.
Some factory wiring systems require coding before they’ll work with trailer lights, but this harness doesn’t. The powered converter isolates the trailer load from the vehicle’s sensitive electronics, so everything works as it should—no reprogramming needed. It provides the lighting signals for running lights, turn signals, and brake lights through the standard 4-way flat plug.
This harness uses a dedicated power wire that connects to the vehicle battery. That gives the converter a solid power source and protects the vehicle’s lighting circuits from overload. The easiest way to route it is through an existing grommet before running it up to the battery for a secure, weather-tight connection.
Once installed, you can pair it with optional brackets to keep the 4-way connector mounted neatly next to your hitch receiver. That keeps the wiring protected and easy to reach whenever you’re ready to hook up your trailer lights.

Installed 1 year ago. It still works. Clean install if you follow directions. Rented uhaul trailers and all wiring passed the test. Car has been into Vw for warranty work no problems from this kit. Also bought hitch b/c in 18 limited choices for a hitch in this vehicle. Read the weight limits though. Per dealer with aftermarket hitch. Good product! Plug play.
Everything is good quality hitch went in like should. However on the wiring harness I had to shave the outer tab on all male ends to be able to plug in to female plugs. Also don’t like having the plug inside trunk, then pull it out when needed. Need somewhere to run it out of car and attach permanently near hitch.

Still working as to be expected. I chose to punch a line and run the electrical line through the spare tire area and down to the receiver. I also purchased an adapter to convert to a round so that I could secure it to keep from loosely hanging. Would purchase again if needed.
