This was so competitively priced I was concerned about the quality. No need, they are very well made and a bargain compared to other products that do the same thing.

Poor quality! Do not expect these to secure your gear. TheLockPickingLawyer has a video where he picks the coupler lock in under 30 seconds. The whole package is made as cheaply as possible.

I love watching TheLockPickingLawyer! He gives some great insight on the security of all locks. One thing I have noticed though, is that he is practically a lockpicking guru that can open pretty much any lock out there. I doubt any lock could withstand him. As for your average Joe, I believe this lock should be able to withstand a decent defense.

It's a simple but complete system. It might not be the most robust system on the market, but it definitely would deter most from trying to take a trailer.

  • Replacement Tires for Harbor Freight 4x8 Trailer
    Hi Jeff; the Taskmaster 4.80R12 Radial Trailer Tire # TT48012C will fit the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20122 you ordered. This is the same tire size you have now so clearance isn't an issue. It also has the M speed rating for 81 mph. I don't think you're going to find anything that is rated higher in the smaller size. Keep in mind, the trailer itself might not be rated that high. Even if you switch to higher rated tires you may be limited by the max speed of that trailer.

    TowSmart Trailer Coupler Locks and Hitch Locks like those found in the # TS84FR do not have replacement keys available. Since you should have a key remaining, I recommend checking with your local hardware store to see if they can make a copy. If you lose your remaining key/keys the only solution would be total replacement of your lock.

    We do have some options that have all 3 types of locks using the same key and for that I recommend the TowSmart Trailer Coupler Lock Kit # TS84FR. While these parts are all keyed alike, there isn't a way to order multiples of this set with everything matching so you're looking at a matching kit per towing setup.

    I have a solution for you but the etrailer Hitch and Coupler Lock Set - 2" Hitch - 2-5/16" Ball item # e68ZR slides onto a standard coupler and most likely won't work on yours if it has a wider coupler and a larger rolled lip than in the product pictures. You will want to use the Master Lock Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock and Coupler Lock Set - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches item # 3794DAT. The coupler lock is universal and adjustable.
