Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 70 lb Hobie Compass Kayaks

Interested in roof mounting for 2 Hobie Compass kayaks 12 feet long and 70 pounds each. The J cradles used on our lighter weight kayaks dont seem up to the challenge of the Hobies.

For your heavier Hobie Compass kayaks I recommend using either the etrailer J-Style Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs # e98878 (weight rating 150 lbs) or the Swagman Exo Aero Saddle-Style Rooftop Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs # S65145 (weight rating 100 lbs).
The J-Style sounds more like what you're used to and to load your heavy kayaks to this style rack I recommend using a load-assist like the Rhino-Rack Universal Load Assist # RR-RUSL but if you'd rather go with the saddle-style then I recommend checking out a rear load-assist option like the Malone Channel Loader # MAL48FR which uses suction cups to mount to the back of your vehicle.
