Malone Accessories and Parts - MAL48FR

The Channel Loader is an incredibly simple to use kayak loader that works with nearly any vehicle and fits most boat hull configurations. The design includes an extra tall frame that reaches over most spoilers, and a narrow footprint to allow loading of 2 kayaks on the vehicle's rooftop. Other features include an over-sized 10" wide conical roller to improve boat control and a 3-position adjustment system to match any angular loading requirement. The heavy-duty toggle activated vacuum cups have non-marking pads that protect the vehicle's sheet metal from abrasion. Stores in the trunk or hatch when not in use. Includes a limited lifetime warranty.

Note: For sedan style vehicles, 2 individual Channel Loaders are recommended.

Works as designed. It's not the most innovative kayak lift assist on the market, but it sells for a fraction of the price of other units, and presents no issues for carrying two kayaks on my rack. The job of lifting a kayak onto my roof no longer needs two people.

Great kayak loader. Makes it much easier. We have long kayaks and I could load one myself now on our Subaru. It's easy to store and very well made. Etrailer is always a great company to work with.

Solid product, does the job. The rollers make pushing kayak to rack on or Highlander manageable for one person. The suction pads hold to window and easily clears the spoiler.

I was concerned that the suction cups would not hold on my slightly curved back window (Volvo xc70), but they worked great. Used to load a 100 pound 20 foot kayak onto roof racks. Roller works smoothly. Just what I needed to clear the rear gate spoiler.

This roller works great and is a lifesaver when getting kayaks up on the roof of our SUV. It may take a few tries to get the suction cups to attach due to the curvature of the back window, but when its on correctly, it holds firm.

When it stays attached to the window, it works great. Unfortunately, that is probably half the time. We've found that we need to find the flat spot on the window. Any bit of curvature in the window and the kayak load will disconnect while the kayak is being loaded or unloaded.

The product was reasonably priced. It was delivered in a timely fashion. I am thrilled with this particular product ( Malone Channel Loader Kayak Load Assist ). It works well on my 2018 Honda Crv providing ease of loading for my 14 foot Delta Kayak.

The Malone load assist works really well. I wasn't sure untilI tried it - I am 71 and wrestling my rowing scull to the car top carrier is getting more challenging each year. Worked like a charm - dead simple.

Great product. I found that if you drive off with it still attached to your car window, it will still be there when you stop. Works well with even a whitewater boat, but because of the flatter bottom youjust have to be careful keeping on center when loading/unloading. I like it so much, I just bought a 2nd one.

The Malone rolling loader itself still works well, but by now I wish it were at least 6 inches wider. More than once my kayak has slipped sideways while being pushed up and fell on the ground.

How Can I Get My Kayak Onto the Roof of My 2015 Toyota 4runner with OEM Crossbars with No T-Slots?
Hello Brian, We can definitely help you find a better way to load your kayak onto your 4Runner. Unfortunately, the Thule Load Stops # TH503 won't work, as they are designed for square bars. From what I found, the OEM crossbars on your 2015 Toyota 4Runner SR5 don’t have T-slots for accessories, which means there aren’t many load stop options that would work for your setup. However, if your bars do have T-slots, please let me know! That said, I think your best bet would be the Malone Channel...

Hey Bryan, the Malone Channel Loader Kayak Load Assist # MAL48FR has a 75 lb weight capacity and I did my best to look up the weight of your Oldtown PDL 106 and found it looks to weigh right around that but maybe a little less/more. But either way it's not going to fully support the weight of the kayak at any point so it will work just fine.

The Yakima ShowDown # Y04081 needs the crossbars to extend at least 3-1/2" out past the towers for proper fitment, and Yakima states not to use these with roof racks that clamp to a roof so you wouldn't be able to use the ShowDown with the naked roof on your 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour. Hello Kevin, thanks for reaching out. I really can't recommend using the Malone Channel Loader Kayak Load Assist # MAL48FR for kayaks that weigh more than 75 lbs. Malone does specify a 75 lb max capacity for the load assist, and while it may not be bearing the full 75 lbs at any given time, you would still be pushing your luck and risking damaging something.
