Published 07/06/2023

Question:

I just purchased 4 new tires for my Travel Trailer and trying to determine the right PSI cold. My RV weight is: Dry Weight 6364 Payload capacity 2096 GRWR 8500 Hitch wght 665lbs The new tires are Goodyear Endurance ST225/75R15 117N E1 BSW, It shows the max PSI as 80. My previous Ranier tires only took 65PSI Should I fill the new tires to 80 PSI? Thanks

The Goodyear Endurance ST225/75R15 Radial Tire, found with our combo part # LH33FR, can be filled to 50 PSI for a weight rating of 2,150 lbs per tire, which puts you at 8,600 lbs for all 4 tires.

Normally we would say to go by the 80 PSI rating found on the sidewall of the tire (which gives you a 2,830 lbs rating per tire), but since Goodyear came out with a chart showing the different weight ratings for different PSI numbers we can use this for your scenario (not all trailer tire manufacturers have a chart like this).
