Question:

Will this be direct replacement for Dexter # 008-480-05? I understand they do not manufacture this hub/drum anymore.

The Dexter 008-480-05 is specifically designed to fit AL-KO axles. Unfortunately, the # 8-407-5UC3-EZ will not fit AL-KO axles. Since these axles are no longer made replacement parts are not available. The best solution is to replace your 4,400 lb axle with a conventional axle.

The closest thing in capacity will be a 5,200 lb axle like the # e45GR which measures 86-1/2" long. You will need your hub face to hub face measurement to find the correct replacement. If the spring seat measurement doesn't match what you currently have you can cut off the spring seats and weld on the # TRSS300.

For a hub and drum assembly you can use the # 8-201-9UC3-EZ which will match your current bolt pattern. You would also need new brakes like the # 23-105-106.
