I need to disconnect the existing harness. Does the custom connector from VW release? How do I get it to do that?

When it comes to replacing the trailer wiring harness on your 2016 Volkswagen Touareg The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118668 gives you a 4-flat connector. This harness will plug into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights.
