Question:

Can you replace a Curt rota-flex 1621inch pin box with a turning point pin/rotating turrent box? We have a 2021 RAM 3500 w/ RAMBOX. I understand the only way to pull a Fifth Wheel is with a rotating pin box safety. Unfortunately the New RV we are looking at, does not come stock with one. The 2022 CrossRoads Aire CR32BH. Thanks.

Yes, you can replace a Curt Rota-Flex 1621 Pin Box item # LC328329 with a rotating turret. Since you have a 2021 Ram 3500 w/ Ramboxes this is the only way you will be able to tow a 5th wheel trailer.

To add a rotating pin box to your 2022 CrossRoads Aire CR32BH, I recommend the Reese Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret item # RP34FR. The Reese Sidewinder fits both the Lippert 1621 an 1621HD pin box.

Not all 5th wheel hitches are compatible with a rotating pin box. If your 2021 Ram 3500 w/ Ramboxes has the factory prep package you will want to use the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package item # BWRVK3600.

If your Ram 3500 does not have the factory prep package you will need the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # BWRVK3255 and the Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails item # BWRVK2605.

You will need the Sidewinder Wedge Kit for B&W hitches item # RP74FR to keep the pin box from rotating inside the 5th wheel hitch.
