Question:
Can I remove/replace the factory hitch with the Curt hitch? If so, does this hitch allow a larger spare to be used?

Yes, you can remove/replace the factory hitch on your 2016 Ram 2500 with The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15801. If you want to keep the factory hitch on you can do that as well and use the factory hitch so you can carry a bike rack or other hitch-mounted accessory while you tow.
If you do remove it you will be able to stow a larger spare tire underneath your 2016 Ram 2500 6-1/2 foot bed with out without a factory installed hitch.
The trailer hitch has a bolt-on installation that requires no welding. It has a black powder coat finish that is over a protective base coat which offers a superior rust resistance.
The trailer hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight up to 20,000 pounds and has a maximum tongue weight up to 2,700 pounds. I would recommend checking your vehicle's manual to find out the proper towing capacity for your vehicle.
