Question:
I want to replace my 26 inch 2200 lbs rv leaf spring part number 072-078-00 with something heavier. I know this doesnt increase capacity. Just looking for something more robust. Can you suggest a 4 leaf or 5 leaf high load option for my 4400 lb axle setup

Expert Reply:
We do have a more robust option to replace your 072-078-00 double-eye springs, which are for 4,400 lb axles and have a 2,200 lb capacity, like you mentioned. So for a higher capacity option, I do not recommend going any higher than a 5,000 lb spring. Anything above that is going to give you a very stiff, bouncing, uncomfortable ride. So I recommend going with either of the following:
- 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,500-lb Trailer Axles - 26" Long # e27SR
- 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 5,000-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/4" Long # e44SR
