Therefore, you have two options which are to hardwire your own harness in or use a wireless brake controller. If you wish to hardwire your own harness in then you will need to cut the factory plug off the brake controller harness you have now (if present) and then splice into this the Universal Wiring Adapter for Curt Trailer Brake Controllers part # C51515.

I don't recommend the hardwire option for you because it requires splicing into a new vehicle with a very delicate electrical system. Therefore, the best option is a wireless brake controller. The best wireless brake controller on the market right now is the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180.

The Echo is a relatively new brake controller that is gaining a lot of popularity.
