Question:
Hello. Im looking at a geopro 16 BH travel trailer GVWR approximately 4500 LBS, to be towed by my 2018 ram 2500 long bed tradesman with approximately 200 LBS weight carried behind the rear axle. Ill do a fair amount of off road and highway travel with it. What weight distribution/sway system would you recommend and should I disconnect the system while off roading? Thanks for the help

I would be happy to help you find the right weight distribution system for your Geopro Travel Trailer. I will start out by saying if you are going to be off-roading you will absolutely want to unhook the bars. You will break or warp something very quickly. With that in mind, I recommend the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution item # BLU67FR. This system has a 600 lbs - 800 lbs tongue weight range which will cover your trailer perfectly. It also has built in sway control that will keep your trailer inline with your Ram while driving down the highway. The spring bars attach with L-brackets that are easy to install and remove when you are ready to go off pavement.
I also recommend the Classic Accessories Tow Bar and Weight Distribution Tote item # CA80113. This heavy duty bag is perfect for storing your weight distributing hitch. It is 36" x 11" Wide x 8" Tall and has padding that prevents damage to your hitch and prevents dings to your vehicle's cargo area from shifting gear.
