Can The Advent A/C Be Installed On A Roof Thicker Than 5 Inches?

Question:
I am looking at replacing an aging AC unit. The roof thickness is about 7. What is limiting the unit to mount to a roof of 5? Is it the anchor bolts? Could I use the existing installation to install this unit? What type of retrofit would need to be done. The reason the roof is so thick is that it is the living quarters in a horse trailer and the roof is arched while the ceiling is flat.

I took a look at the installation instructions for the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box, Start Capacitor, and Heat Strip # ACM135CH and you actually can install this unit on a roof thicker than 5".
There isn't anything limiting installation on a thicker roof, however with your roof being thicker you will have a gap that you will need to fill. Advent recommends that you use foil, or another type of installation.
