Question:
Hello, the trailer for my 19ft boat does not have brakes and for safety Id like to add them. It is a galvanized Shorelandr YAV2413SW with foldable tongue. What are my options? I know the newer versions come with brakes on them. Thanks!

To add brakes to your Shorelandr YAV2413SW trailer. You will need to know the dimensions of the spindle so that we can determine what hub/drums you would need. Also you will want to know what lug pattern you have so we can get you a set of hubs that does not require you to swap out your wheels. You also will need to know if you have brake mounting flanges on your current spindles as well. I attached a help article that will walk you through the entire process of adding brakes to your trailer.
It looks like your Shorelandr trailer has a 10" drum. You will want the 10" brake assemblies, the Hydraulic Brake Kit # AKFBBRK-35-D. These are free backing and have a 3,500 lbs capacity. They fit a 4 bolt mounting flange.
You will also need the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Single Axle - 18' item # 18SI-BLKIT.
Finally, you will need the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator - Drum - Zinc - 2" Ball - 7,000 lbs item # DM72VR. This actuator fits 3" channels and will bolt directly to your coupler.
