Replacement Brake Setup for Trailer with DB-42 Disc Brakes
Updated 07/22/2020 | Published 07/20/2020 >
Question:
Hello, My current trailer has DB-42 calipers and they are rusted and not functioning well. I am reading that its advised to replace it with the DB-35 and that Kodiak brakes are an upgrade. The rotors/hub probably could use replacement because the trailer was not well taken care of and two of the wheels have one lug broken off they are 5 lug rotors. There are two axles and both of them had calipers for four total. What parts will I need to do the full upgrade and should I be looking at replacing the brake lines at this point? Thanks

The DB-42 is an older style of UFP 3,500 lb axle disc brake components. The Kodiak kits like the part # K2HR35D will fit in replacement of that and would be an upgrade so this would be a great solution. It comes with everything you'd need to convert to the Kodiak brakes. These are Dacromet coated too which means it'll do a great job resisting corrosion as well.
