Why Does My Furrion Vision S Camera Only Come on When the Tow Vehicle Lights Are On

Question:

The rear camera only comes in if I turn the tow vehicle lights are on. It is a 2021 ram 3500 and 2021 Montana high country 335. Any ideas

When using the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System # FOS43TASF it is normal operation for the camera to turn on with the running lights on. That is where the camera is drawing its power from and is the most common orientation for wiring the camera.

Some people choose to wire the camera to the reverse light so that the camera comes on only when in reverse, but most of the time and in pre wire situations the camera is powered from the running lights.
