Question:

How far above the wheel fenders are the tops of the crossbars? Im wondering if a very wide curvy kayak mounted on its side might hit the fenders.

The fenders on the Malone LowBed MicroSport Trailer # MPG464-LB are going to sit almost flush with crossbars. Do remember that the height of the Malone FoldAway-J Kayak Carrier # MAL98FR will give you over the top of the crossbars and the fact that the rear crossbar is so close to the fender will reduce the chance of your kayak hitting the fenders. The crossbar spread is also adjustable from 44" to 63" allowing you to be more on the center of the kayak so it will not sit as low on the trailer.
