Question:

Good Morning! I believe I need hardware and shock straps to mount Hobie cradles on a Malone microsport lowbed trailer for my Hobie PA 12. How does the Hobie Installation hardware MPG5576-6 work for that? Also would 2 Shock Straps 297-7RSBB work? Are they long enough? Do they come with instructions and/or video online? Ive never used these types of straps before.I will be transporting 2 kayaks to Florida this winter and want to get the set-up right. Thanks In advance.

You can use your Hobie carriers on your Malone MicroSport LowBed Trailer # MPG464-LB with the Malone Installation Hardware for Hobie Style Carriers # MPG5576-6.

I have added a cut out of the instructions and linked them below but you just need to fasten the brackets to the Hobie cradles and then attach them to the crossbars with the plates so it's pretty simple.

In regards to the 7 foot ShockStrap Ratchet Tie-Down Strap with Shock Absorber # 297-7RSBB (Qty 1) or # 297-7RSDB (Qty 2) they should be long enough assuming you are attaching one end to a tie-down point on your kayak and the other to part of the trailer frame.

I have added links below to a couple videos showing the straps and while they aren't being used specifically for a kayak and kayak trailer, the same process applies - one end will attach to the kayak and the other to the trailer.
