Question:

Hello. I have an unwired hitch on my Explorer right now and am looking to install both a 4 way and a 7 way connector. From other posts, I was going to go with the following parts: 1 T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector - 118599 2 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires - ETBC7L 3Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional - C51180 For connecting the wires to the cars battery, do I need to run the wiring underneath for both the 4 way and the 7 way or would the 12 gauge wiring from the 7 way work for both? Thanks.

You need to run the power wire of the # ETBC7L kit and of the trailer wiring kit part # 118599 separately as they at any given moment you could over draw the wire if both circuits were pulling their max amperage.
