Question:
I have analysis paralysis! I’ve narrowed down my options for my 2021 Ram 3500 short bed SWD for hauling a 5th wheel with a Hitch Wgt of 1,865# and GVW of 12,000# to: 1. SSR-301-40-2. 3,000# 2. SSR-301-47-2. 5,000# Which is my best option? I’ve read that the 47-2 makes the ride when not towing very stiff and bumpy. Then, I’ve read the 40-2 doesn’t help much when towing a 5th wheel my size but the unhitched ride is smoother. PLEASE help my resolve this so I can get the correct ones purchased and installed right away! thx

Sag is a pretty common problem for trucks towing a 5th wheel trailer, so SumoSprings are a smart idea, and the best option for your 2021 Ram 3500 are the following:
- SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SSR-301-47-2
The SumoSprings # SSR-301-47-2 have a 5,000 lb capacity to give your '21 Ram the support it needs when towing. These are going to engage only when you are towing (or otherwise have a heavy load in your Ram's truck bed) so your unloaded ride won't be affected.
But when you are towing, the SumoSprings will take the brunt of the weight put on your Ram's rear suspension to counteract the sag, which will help level and stabilize your truck. This means when you are towing you won't experience squat, allowing your front wheels to make better contact with the ground instead of being lifted slightly at the rear from the weight of your trailer This naturally improves all aspects of your handling, including braking, sway, and body roll when you are turning, giving you a much more comfortable ride.
