Question:

Hi there, We recently purchased a 2022 Jayco Jay Fight SLX 242BHS Travel Trailer. The stock bumper is without a Receiver Hitch for accommodating our bike rack, which is a Thule 4 Bike system that would require a 2inch Receiver Hitch. It seems that there are a few different 2inch Receiver Hitches that etrailer offers that can be fitted on to our travel trailers bumper, but my question really pertains to beefing up the bumper that is welded to the Main Frame of the travel trailer itself. Our bumper is approx 4x4, with the Bumper Supports being welded to the bumper itself on one end and to the Main Frame of the travel trailer on the other. Is product #MO34VR what we need to reinforce our bumper? If so, will these supports be drilled through the Main Frame and the Bumper Supports? Attached are a couple of pics showing a lateral and inside with of the Bumper and Supports. Thanks for your time in advance!

Yes, you will use the Mount-n-Lock SafteyStruts Universal RV Bumper Supports # MO34VR to reinforce your bumpers frame on your 2022 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 242BHS Travel Trailer.

These brackets will be installed by bolting through your trailers frame, and not the bumper supports.

If you're also needing a trailer hitch, the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100 will work great, and will fit trailers that have a 4" square channel bumper. This hitch is intended for RV rated accessories, has a maximum GTW of 3,500-lbs and a maximum tongue weight capacity of 350-lbs.
