Question:
does this need to be installed by a mechanics shop? does the truck have to be on a lift to install with the wheels off?

Expert Reply:
The SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer Kit, part # SSA28, can be installed by a professional or by a person with knowledge of mechanical matters and the necessary tools (1/2-inch and 3/4-inch wrenches and sometimes a C-clamp). A vehicle jack or lift is also required. It is possible to do the installation one side at a time using a jack.
The vehicle must be on a solid level surface; ignition must be off; emergency brake must be on; and blocks must be placed front and rear of the front tires to prevent vehicle movement. Removing the rear wheels will provide better access for the installation but it is not mandatory in all cases.
For your review I have linked the installation instructions for this kit.
Please note that suspension kits like this SuperSprings product do not increase the vehicle weight carrying capacity.
