Features to know about

Keep Your Truck Level Under Load: 1,500-lb Helper Spring Support

When you’re hauling a heavy trailer or bed load, rear-end sag throws off steering and braking. The SuperSprings Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit adds up to 1,500 lbs of support by mounting above your factory leaf springs. The extra leafs automatically engage as the stock springs flex, lifting the rear and distributing weight through the frame so your truck stays level and confident under load.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Up to 30 Percent Less Sway

Heavy loads can make your truck lean or sway when wind gusts hit or when a big rig passes. These helper springs act like sway bars, cutting body roll and sway by up to 30 percent. Rollers on each end let the springs flex smoothly so you stay stable through curves, on rough roads, or in strong crosswinds.

Customize Support for How You Drive: Adjustable Shackle Mounting

Not every haul is the same, and your suspension shouldn’t be either. The included shackles have multiple mounting options so you can tune support and ride height. Use the upper holes for constant heavy loads or older springs that need more lift, the lower holes to keep a near-factory ride when unloaded, or one of each for a balanced setup that fits everyday driving.

Skip the Air Lines and Maintenance: Bolt-On, Automatic Operation

There’s no tubing, air fittings, or pressure to check—these springs respond automatically to what you’re carrying. The bolt-on design mounts above your existing leafs with no drilling required, and an additional kit is included for vehicles with springs set above the axle to keep operation quiet when unloaded. It’s a simple, maintenance-free way to reinforce your suspension and extend the life of your brakes, tires, and factory components.

Video Transcript for All About the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the SuperSprings lines of custom suspension stabilizer and sway control kits. You'll want to use etrailer's fit guide to determine the correct kit for your vehicle. Here's what our SuperSprings are going to look like once we have them installed. Now these are going to give us the support we need whenever we're hauling a heavy load or towing a heavy trailer. Typically, whenever we're hauling something extremely heavy our suspension wants to flex a lot and our back end sags down. Well these are going to provide us the extra support by activating whenever our suspension flexes, the rollers on the end of our leaf spring are going to activate our helper spring and provide us that extra support.

But also still giving us a nice ride when we're not towing something heavy, because it's going to deactivate those springs and still have a nice comfortable ride. And since they are attached to the front and back of our factory leaf springs, it's also going to act like a sway bar and it's going to prevent our leaf springs from twisting. Giving us a lot more stability when we're driving down the road. The multiple notches in the end here are going to provide us with a little bit of customization, depending on how much support we need. If we need more or if we just have a little bit of spring fatigue in our truck, it'll give us that little bit of lift so whenever we're towing something we don't have quite as much sag.We have a water tank in the bed of our truck as a heavy load or to simulate the tongue weight of a heavy trailer or a fifth wheel. So as I take the truck through my test course, I can definitely tell that there's a load back there.

The engine doesn't seem to be straining that much, but the bumps are extremely harsh and I can definitely feel it resonating through the seat. When I come to the slalom course and I'm going through the turns it definitely has a lot of body roll and I just generally feel like I need to slow down because it feels like it's leaning a lot and it's not responding quickly enough to the turns. The SuperSprings installed and I have the same load back there. When I'm driving through our course I can immediately tell a difference. The bumps aren't as harsh because the truck isn't sagging down as much and there's a little bit more support back there. But really where I tell a big difference is through the slalom course.

It definitely feels way more stable and even taking the turns going in and out, it just feels like it really wants to stick to the ground a lot better and just generally wants to go faster.Compared to airbags, these are a maintenance free option with no tubes to run or air pressure to maintain. Similar to airbags you can customize the level of support provided. Unlike airbags however you do this during the installation and set it one time rather than on the fly adjustability you get with airbags. And that completes our look at the SuperSprings line of custom suspension stabilizer and sway control kits.

These "helper" springs made the difference between towing with our E150 Ford conversion van or buy a different vehicle. Our tow vehicle rides a little stiffer, but that was expected. It certainly gives us the confidence of towing a 26' camper.

Super Springs and mounting kit was very easy to install on my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4. The springs raised the ride height 1-1/2 inches and made a big improvement to the original leaf springs that were sagging. The truck drive like new again with less body lean in turns. The ride quality actually improved

Superspring purchase was right on the mark. Gave George J. all the info on my truck, rv and what I was experiencing. He suggested the SSA5MTKT springs that they should take care of my problem. I installed them in 45 minutes, hooked to my rv and made a pull. I was able to pull at 65 and 70 mph with minimal bouncing and rocking. An increase of 1" in loaded ride height and 10-15 mph was perfect. Thanks George J. and the staff at Etrailer.com

by:

Great product, very clear instructions. I really appreciated the stickers on each spring showing the correct orientation, that took all of the guess work out of it.

Thanks Supersprings for making a great kit and confirming the product would work with the airbags I had installed.

by:

Exceeded all expectations

by:

Springs arrived one day earlier than promised then the mounting kit arrived the next day, on time. Checked for the fit of the mounting kit and it clears the axle and bolt sticking up through the existing springs, but didn't check clearance for the springs yet, will wait until I have more time and actually install them. The springs and mounting kit look strong and should do their job.

by:

These helper springs worked well. My truck didn't sag nearly as much with similar loads in it than it did before. Probably raised it around 4-5 inches when loaded and about an inch when not. Only complaint is the bolts holding the product to the adapter for a spring over axle setup are not of a high grade. They broke, but I may have overtightened them. I replaced them with some grade 8 bolts from the hardware store. They are only needed to hold the new spring in place when the vehicle is raised off the ground. They don't affect the performance of the product.

They work great and have no problems

This product is a must if you are looking for a pleasant ride empty, yet still have additional capacity when you need it. I purchased it because I haul a Lance 1062 camper and was not pleased with the air bag setup I had been using. The air bags would handle the load just fine, but I got a lot of side to side motion while going around corners. I even set each air bag up independent of the other. The SSA15 kit eliminated the side to side motion. It really does act like a sway bar. I recommend you remove the rear tires when you install, it will make it much easier.

by:

Can not believe the conversion did not include beefing up suspension! Much superior ride with Supersprings and less complicated than airbags. Also added new Sumo shocks front and rear. They also removed the sway bar because of generator installation.

by:

The springs, I’ve used on a couple different vehicles over the years, as I’ve also used several air bag set ups, I wanted the simplicity of a one and done for the life of the vehicle kind of setup. This is what I get with these. Install was fairly easy with my available tools and I would easily recommend these to anyone that wanted something purposeful, reliable and straight forward. I load the van with ADV motorcycles, Dirtbike’s and trailers full of gear, supplies and wood and they do just fine, keep a level ride and don’t say in the least. Satisfaction thus far! application

by:

I used the SuperSprings to help support my Slide In Camper for my 2500 Chevy. They support good. I have Timbren installed also, but were bottomed out. After adding the SuperSprings with the Timbren the camper is supported good. The truck sits and rides level

by:

Very pleased! There are two settings, but I prefer the heavier capacity setting and higher in the rear feeling. It has made all the difference in the world with my long wheelbase 2002 Chevrolet Astro Van. I really do not feel that it has changed my ride comfort that much, very little, if any. I always have some kind of load on the van, whether hauling cargo in the van, or towing a trailer, that my ride is still as smooth as always. But, the remarkable thing is, that now my rear end isn't sagging to the ground like it always use to be, even without a load! I'm super pleased and would recommend these springs to everyone for the reasons I've shared above.

by:

Packages arrived on time, everything was there, installation went good, I removed the rear tires to make it easier, picked the rear of the truck up by 1 3/4 inches, have not hooked up 5 th wheel yet, we will see if it helps with the bottoming out .

by:

I bought these for my 2011 Silverado 1500 crew cab 4wd, truck had a 6” lift and 35” tires. I was frequently towing a 5k pound horse trailer ( bumper pull not gooseneck ) and was getting a lot of bounce in the truck. As a honest review, I installed them ( quick and easy I add ) and removed them a month or so later. They did everything they were suppose to, sway was better, felt more In control at high speeds, and less squat on the truck. My complaint was my truck rode like a 3/4 ton truck without the trailer and I didn’t have 3/4 ton power. So I removed them to get my ride quality back, eventually selling the truck and buying a 3/4 ton. Now in another 3/4 ton for a few week, I would say it wasn’t as bad as a true 3/4 ton, but it does firm up the ride a bit. I still give it 5 stars because it did exactly what it was suppose to, super cost effective, easy to install and remove, no fabrication etc. also I requested some precise measurements on individual pieces from etrailer customer service for fitment with my lift kit and they responded same day with all measurements I needed.

Sum up if your debating, it’s easy to install, easy to remove, way cheaper than bags, adjustable, work great.

Used to sell SS, easy effective upgrade as usual....

If you watch the video on installation from the model - SSA13MXKT, you will see how to install them, that's why I don't have any pictures. It took me about 2-1/2 hours to install. The brackets were a plated color and I painted everything black before installed them. My truck was pretty clean underneath so I think they look better. I installed them on a 2019 GMC Denali HD 2500 Duramax. As far as handling, after the install, I did not notice too much difference empty. But - when I had my 5th wheel hooked up, there was a difference, not a significant amount, but a difference. My pin weight on the trailer is roughly 1,350 lbs. also. Now for the dimensions here is what I got - I would say, these dimensions are within an 1/8". The dimensions were taken from the center of the tire to a line on the truck, front and rear.
BEFORE INSTALL -
Rear - 43"
Front - 40-1/8"
AFTER INSTALL -
Rear - 44"
Front - 40-1/16"
WITH MY CAMPER HOOKED UP
1,350 lbs. Pin Weight (CAT Scale Certified)
Rear - 42-5/8"
Front - 40-1/8"
As you can see, it dropped the truck down 1-3/8". Before the install my truck would "squat" approximately 2-1/2" So, they made a big difference, an 1-1/8" difference. Before the install, the front was about (I never got a good measurement on that) 41".

We purchased the product and it arrived on time, scheduled the mechanic to install the springs at the mechanics shop on step 1 of the instructions that we needed a special bolt kit for an additional $120.00 this was very miss leading. We ordered the additional bolt kit should be delivered on 11/18/24 we will see what is next. It would have been nice to have a pop up or some type of information warning us of the additional bolt kit when ordering the product stating we needed to purchase and additional kit. Im not to impressed with the purchasing part of the SuperSprings experience, hopefully they will be a superior product so I can forget about the bad experience. We will see

by:

Great price fast shipper easy to work with on ordering

by:

Overall, the installation of the SuperSprings kit went pretty well. The instructions sent with the kit were not all that clear, but the info on etrailer's website saved the day. Can't wait to put the camper back on the truck and see how it rides!

by:

These helper springs were installed on my 2006 GMC Sierra 2500 HD with 92K miles. Previously, I had used Timbren "enhancers". I like the super springs much better. The ride is much better with the SS. Driving over a speed bump no longer results in whiplash that the Timbren enhancers caused. With a 1000# slide in truck camper the truck sits level. There is not a lot of sway in cross winds. I did install a rear sway bar so that the truck handles normally when my wife drives it loaded. I also tow a boat while the camper is in the bed and there are no negative aspects to this. I recommend the Super Springs for load control on a 06 GMC.

by:

The kit looks really good but I can’t figure out how to install. Enclosed are two photos showing my van suspension and the parts your sent. The instructions do not show my van with only one spring. Can you advise?????????????? Thanks.

by:

I have ordered a few things from etrailer and they have been on top of things As for this particular item (super springs) I’m very impressed!!! I have a very heavy over loaded truck I typically run 70 to 80 psi in air bags I had my doubts that it would put me at my ride height that I wanted it’s exactly where it needs to be I hope it holds the same or close to it when I hook to my trailers. wish I would have taken before and after pics but again very impressed and would highly recommend

by:

The Super Springs work great! I pull a 8,500# trailer with a hitch weight of 950# with a 2004 GMC Sierra 1/2 Ton. The truck pulls fine but even with an equalizer hitch still had some sag. The Super Springs were easy to install and leveled the rig. After a year everything still works great.

  • Will SuperSprings SSA15MTKT and SSA10MTKT Stabilizer Kits Change Ride Height of 2020 Ram 3500
Both the SuperSprings # SSA10MTKT and # SSA15MTKT have mounting shackles that have a series of 3 holes at different heights. If you use the lowest set of holes, the unloaded truck will remain at its current ride height. The next level of holes will raise the unloaded truck by about 1 inch and the top holes will raise the truck by about 1-1/2 to 2 inches when unloaded. The # SSA15MTKT provides up to 2600 lbs of additional support and the # SSA10MTKT provides 1500 lbs of support. Both kits...

  • Suspension Enhancement for a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 and In-Bed Camper
You would benefit from some suspension enhancement on your 2004 Dodge Ram and in-bed camper. However, you would not need 2 separate systems. One would be sufficient. Since a camper is pretty much a static load (does not vary greatly in size or shape) going with rubber springs or leaf springs would be the way to go. My top choice is a Timbren system, # TDR2500CA. These springs are going to help stabilize and level the truck, reduce road shock and side to side roll. They have a high 6,000...

In order to decrease the amount of sag that you experience on your 2006 Chevrolet 1500 when towing an equipment trailer with a pintle hitch, I recommend taking a look at the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway-Control Kit. These helper springs install above your rear factory leaf springs to reduce sway and prevent sagging when hauling a heavy load. If it is the HD version then instead you will use their similar kit # SSA10MTKT. The SuperSprings helper leaf springs are an ideal solution for your slide-in camper application and will perform better than rubber jounce springs.
